Special Award Winners

During our last End of Year Showcase, held on June 3rd 2017, the HPA Special Awards were launched. These awards aim to reward students for special skills including altruism, team-spirit, leadership, kindness and perseverance. At the The Hoi Polloi Academy for Performing Arts we do not only value talent in the performing arts … we value all life skills.

The following are the winners for this year’s awards:

NEWCOMER OF THE YEAR – Julia Borg, Red Class

Awarding the best newcomer for the scholastic year for commendable first impression, both talent and attitude-wise.

AWARD FOR IMPROVEMENT – Francesca Borg, Green Class

Awarding a student who has shown marked improvement in learning and performing throughout the year. 

BEST HPA IMAGE – Lamise Meruzzi, Orange Class

Awarding a student who has shown punctuality, discipline and a fun hard-working approach to the work and was always impeccably dressed in uniform.

Best HPA Spirit – Amy Abela, Orange Class

Awarding t student who has shown a great sense of altruism and kindness towards others, be-it fellow peers, teachers and others they have encountered. in the classroom, in rehearsal and in performance.

AWARD FOR PERSEVERANCE – Kristina Darmanin, Purple Class

Awarding the student who has shown commendable perseverance in learning and performing throughout the year.

ALL-ROUNDER OF THE YEAR – Emily Dimech, Yellow Class

Awarding a student who has shown amazing talent, passion and improvement in various performance skills and disciplines. A joy to work with in more ways then one.

CLASS OF THE YEAR  – The Blue Class

Awarding the class which has shown most commitment, a great approach to the work and a brilliant group dynamic in working as an ensemble.
